It is with great sadness that I announce that my girl Stacy was booted off the SI Swimsuit Model Competition. She made it to the final three so go her.
I will admit, that though she had a "look" she totally blew it in the clinch--the final photo shoot in Bora Bora.
So Stacy and her oversized mouth, undersized breasts, and enormous Midwest account will toddle back to South St. Paul. But do not worry for my girl. She will probably breeze through her half of the Twin Cities on her way directly to fame and fortune.
My new pick: Alicia. She's very smoky. Chuck has changed horses too and is now all about Shannon. We'll see.
Posted by beth at February 3, 2005 01:10 AMI'd just like to state for the record (and brag to your readers) that you picked a LOOOOOSER and BOTH my girls are still in it. Ha! I am the KING of reality TV viewing and predicting!
Posted by: Chuck at February 3, 2005 08:24 AMYes, well that's something to be very proud of honey.
Posted by: beth at February 3, 2005 08:59 AMI put my vote in for Alicia. She needs that thing more than Shannon does after all she's been through. I was kinda floored by Stacy-the-good-Christian-girl's mean and nasty tendencies. Gossip, bragging, constantly insinuating her superiority. Her eyes looked kinda dead half the time. Shannon's a class act and really, either of them qualify. But Alicia's earned this baby. (Good lord, what happened to my feminist beliefs!)
Posted by: Lesley at February 3, 2005 10:57 PMOh good lord, don't tell me you got suckered in with Alicia's constant references to "all the struggles I've been through in my life" nonsense. Honestly, if you played a drinking game where you did a shot every time she talked about her horrible past, you'd have to go out and get another fifth halfway through the show.
Posted by: Chuck at February 3, 2005 11:34 PMJust because Alicia "needs" this more than Shannon does is not my reasoning.
I don't believe you give something to someone who needs it more if someone more qualified is going after the same thing.
I think Shannon's look came and went with the 80's. Don't get me wrong, she's hot and has a great body, but hers is a dated look.
As far as Alicia's whole sob story, puleeeze. That's not what it's all about for me.
And Stacy....hmmm....let's remember that she is like 18 or 19; although youth is no excuse for mean-spiritedness and/or stupidity. Again, my choice with Stacy was not based on personality--which was a major minus. I thought she had a great look--face and body together.
And oh my god....I can't believe I've actually put this much thought into a swimsuit model competition. I'm so ashamed.
Posted by: beth at February 4, 2005 07:27 AMDon't be ashamed, Beth. I recently found out that my current reality TV crush, Christopher Knight, is dating Adrianne Curry, whom he met during "The Surreal Life" and that made me a little sad. Not because I have anything against Adrianne, but because it means he's not on the market, though I wouldn't have a chance with him.
Now that is worthy of a little shame.
Posted by: Carol at February 4, 2005 12:22 PMI hate to be this way, but Shannon's got the bigger set of knockers. I think if it's between the two (no pun intended), Shannon will get it.
Posted by: Laura at February 4, 2005 07:59 PMCarol, I just saw a photo of Chris. Hardly recognizable as the Peter Brady of our youth.
Posted by: beth at February 5, 2005 09:28 PMOk, maybe I got suckered in and Alicia's a manipulative liar who comes from a "good home." I still think she's better looking (more exotic) and *that*, plus her yearning to have it, has earned my vote. If it had been left to the judges, Alicia would already have it. Stacy's face has a bland sort of prettiness. I don't find her particularly striking. And puhlease, the vehemence you and Chuck unleashed in my direction for "falling for Alicia's story" - you're taking this very seriously I can tell. :)
