The warm fuzzies from the last entry lasted all of about eight hours. I took Zoe to Gymboree this morning and returned home to the news that my dad has suffered a heart attack and is in a hospital ICU in Colorado. The doctors tell me his condition is stable but that they're still running tests to figure out how bad it was. His nurse tells me it probably wouldn't be a bad idea for me to come out to be with him.
I've spent most of today wrestling with whether to fly or drive. Airfares are insane right now, especially with no advance purchase, so I'm leaning toward driving -- 11 hours each way. Whichever way I go, I'm leaving in the morning. I don't know how long I'll be. I may be able to borrow my father-in-law's laptop so I can get online and, more importantly, work on a script during the downtime at the hospital. I'll post updates here if I can.
